EMI Music Arabia is proud to release the life story DVD of Fairouz. For the first time, the legendary Fairouz discloses about her extraordinary life in an amazing portrait of one of the greatest Arabic music stars of all time.
THE DVD
Fairouz has expressed her monumental talent in a wide variety of genres, enchanting listeners with classic, traditional renditions of Arab-Andalusian works, Muwashahs and Qacidas while also dipping into the more contemporary repertory of operettas and modern songs. She sings not only of Lebanon, but also of Palestine, Syria and the Mecca, without disowning her Christian origins, expressed in a number of religious songs for Easter and Christmas.
Frédéric Mitterand’s portrait of Fairouz, one of Arab music’s greatest stars, highlights the career of the Lebanese-born winner of France’s Medal of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters, recapping her triumphs and musical collaborations with the likes of Halim Elroumi, Mohamed Fleifel, the Rahbani Brothers, Mohamed Abdel Wahab and others.
The film is also a moving portrait of a tortured, dreamlike Lebanon.
Documentary: Is in Arabic and French and includes English subtitles.
